SlipTest — Confidence in every step

SlipTest by SaniSafe Solutions

Confidence in every step.

Pendulum Slip Testing & Full Insurance Report Service.

On-site pendulum slip-resistance testing to HSA guidance. A written report you can supply to an insurance broker, solicitor or auditor. Treatment available if the PTV is below the British and Irish safety threshold.

What pendulum testing is

A Pendulum Slip test, in plain English.

The pendulum slip-resistance test is the recognised method for measuring slip/traction resistance, used in HSA and UK HSE guidelines. A weighted rubber "foot" swings down across the floor and is slowed by the friction between the foot and the surface. That friction becomes a measurement — the Pendulum Test Value, or PTV.

Higher PTV means lower slip risk. We measure each zone both wet and dry, photograph the test positions, and supply a written record of our findings. If the PTV sits below the recommended threshold, we advise an anti-slip treatment, and we re-test under the same conditions after the treatment has been completed.

What you get

A defendable written record.

  • On-site pendulum testing across wet and dry conditions.
  • PTV readings recorded per zone.
  • Photographic record of test positions and conditions.
  • Written report referencing HSA guidance.
  • Recommendations for treatment where readings sit below the safety threshold.

SlipTest

Pendulum slip testing and full insurance report service.

A written PTV-per-zone report that an insurer, broker or auditor can act on. One contractor, start to finish — we test, we treat and we re-test.

When you need it

Six common triggers for pendulum testing.

New-build handover

Independent slip-resistance verification before sign-off.

Post-incident

Objective measurement after a slip, to support investigation.

Insurance renewal

Documented PTV per zone for your insurer or broker.

Change of floor finish

Re-test after treatment or cleaning regime.

Pre-litigation

A defensible reading, taken under controlled conditions.

Routine H&S audit

Periodic measurement to track wear and cleaning impact.

Why SaniSafe

We test and we treat — so one contractor closes the loop.

Most slip-test providers stop at the report. We measure, make our recommendation and re-test under the same conditions once preventative works have been undertaken.

FAQ

Common questions.

What is the pendulum test?
A standardised swing test that simulates a heel strike on the floor. The pendulum value (PTV) tells you, in numbers, how slip-resistant the floor is.
Is this what insurers require?
Yes. Pendulum (PTV) is the recognised method in HSA and UK HSE guidance, and it produces a number that is defendable in court.
How long does a test take?
A typical site visit is half a day; the report follows.
What if we fail?
We can recommend treatments for the floor and re-test under the same conditions once remedial works have been completed.
